王居延的作品系列包括《现观》、《现观·续》、《现观·初》、
《受难地景与含混的第二种状态》、《2084计划-奶牛、碉堡与无名地景》、
《2085计划》、《2086计划》。
其代表作《现观》系列建构于一种历史与现实文本的对比中，
将过往的历史和当下的现实连接起来，自己建构了一个维度，然后人为地打破它，
从而产生一个现下观看的关系。
从《现观》中丝绸之路上崇高历史风景到《现观·续》中圆明园里受难般的地景，
图像中突出的不确定性对应的是当下与历史的冲突，
而《现观·初》中隐居式的山间静景，又重新回归个人记忆。
因此《现观》对于创作者而言，既是个人表达，同时也是历史文本的重新观看。
在表现形式上，《现观》的创作受到戈雅的影响。
无居延曾说：“戈雅的黑绘画(Black Painting)《圣伊西多尔的朝圣》
和《命运》中略带悲剧气息的色彩和质感给了我很大启发。
叙事文本可以有时间阅读，但是视觉所传达出来的基调是一瞬间的。
《现观》参照了戈雅绘画中类似的单色色彩和颗粒质感来强调视觉上的不确定性。
我希望在《现观》中营造一种紧张感和视觉上的压迫感。”
而《2085计划》与《2086计划》系列则受到乔治·奥威尔的小说《一九八四》的影响。
乔治·奥威尔在《一九八四》中构建了一个高度极权、人们的私人空间被挤压到几乎不存在的世界，
尽管这部创作于1949年的小说其政治预言至今也没有完全发生，
却在技术预言上出奇的准确，以至于它仍然包含一种恐慌，
即技术已经近乎实现的今天，政治预言还有多远？
而2085与2086这个虚构的年代和虚构的世界也就成为了这种未知恐慌的预想。
作品中所构建的正是回应奥威尔的小说——它们发生在1984的101年和102年以后。

His 2015 project “Xian Guan” is constructed in a contrast between historical
and contemporary context. It connected the history with the temporary reality,
to construct a dimension of its own, and then breaks it artificially,
thus creating a relationship to observe the past from now on.
From the lofty historical scenery of the Silk Road in “Xian Guan”
to the torment landscape in the Old Summer Palace of “Xian Guan Ⅲ”,
the big uncertainty in the image is a response to the conflicts
between the temporary and history.
However, the peaceful mountain scenes in “Xian Guan Ⅱ” are all about personal memory.
So the “Xian Guan” series is both a private expression and a re-view of history.
In terms of its expression method, “Xian Guan” was deeply influenced by Goya.
Wang Juyan once said:“The tragic color and texture of Goya’s black painting
such as The Pilgrimage of San Isidro and Atropos (The Fates) inspired me a lot.
You can spend a lot of time to read its meaning,
but the tone conveyed by vision is felt in a moment.
‘Xian Guan’ refers to the similar monochrome color
and grain texture in Goya painting to emphasize the visual uncertainty.
I hope to create a sense of tension and visual oppression in Xian Guan”.
“Project 2085” and “Project 2086” series were influenced by George Orwell's novel “1984”.
George Orwell built a highly totalitarian world in “1984”,
where person’s private space was squeezed out.
Though the political prophecy of this novel which was written in 1949 has not yet fully occurred,
it is surprisingly accurate in technical predictions.
So there is still a panic, that is, with the realization of technical prophecy,
how far it can take for the political prophecy coming true?
And the fictional ages and worlds of 2085 and 2086
have become the anticipation of this unknown panic.
What is created in the works is a response to Orwell’s novels -
they happened in 101 and 102 years after 1984.
